Look! Spring is springing!

Today it’s raining. Over one inch has fallen so far. I just realized that one year ago today was the day of our “snowicane” and here we are one year later having another large-ish storm, only this time it’s rain instead of snow.

Even stranger is the fact that in that blog entry I talk about just having made pork chile verde which I made this morning too without realizing I had made the same dish one year ago today. Very weird! You can’t plan things like that!

Looking out the window at the rain something looked off to me in the back yard. The trees were tinged with color! Wait. It can’t be. I ran for the binoculars and sure enough, one species of tree has popped! Lots of them! Little droopy catkins all over the place! I think they are beeches but I’m not sure.

What can they be thinking? We still have snow on the ground. Silly trees.

Hurrah for spring!

Thats alot of rain. How funny you’re making the same recipe…sounds yummy as usual!
We are getting snow.  Started yesterday and like the energizer bunny it keeps going and going and going.  NOW we get winter…figures.  Just when I’m ready for spring.

Debra, yes but we get rain like this A LOT. smile I’m worried about the trees. Way too early. I guess the rain woke them up.

signs of spring all over the place won’t be long now.  Puts a spring in my step, a smile on my face and makes me feel 10 pounds lighter…. still, won’t keep me from getting on the plane to Aspen tomorrow ~grin

Maggie, “down the mountain” where you live you might be seeing more signs of spring than we are up here. This is the very first thing I’ve seen to alert me to spring’s awakening.

Have fun in Aspen. It’s a beautiful place but kind of hard to get to in the winter unless you fly in. Have fun!

Yay for spring!  Hope those tender little catkins can withstand any more winter weather that gets shovelled at them.
(haha - word verification is ‘hot’)

Betty, yes, YAY! I am more worried about the tender leaves to follow getting caught by a frost. Hah, your verification word is funny!

Bring it! Springtime I mean. C’mon!!

Reya, C’mon is right!
