Snow!

The snow (not the frost) is on the pumpkin!

Lynne Robinson, Hewitt, New Jersey

I woke up this morning to a strange, ethereal light bathing the room. There is nothing quite like the light on a morning when it’s snowing. Looking out I saw fat, sticky, wet, flakes drifting ever so gently past the window. Ah ... SNOW ... and a couple of inches at that.

It stuck to everything.

Trees.

Even the clothesline, which isn’t easy to do!

Dogs.

Cats. (I must have the only indoor cat that can’t wait to sneak outside when it snows. eBay is one silly cat!)

As I stood outside in my house slippers taking photos I couldn’t resist lifting my face to the sky, letting the cold, moist,  flakes settle on my cheeks like a healing balm. Of course I stuck out my tongue and caught some flakes—why do you even need to ask?!  This Jersey Girl is a snow lover!

Now here is some snow for you. At the end, be sure and lift your face into the flakes coming right at you! Can you feel their wetness?

Comments:

wow wow WOW you have snow!

and oh what gorgeous pictures you took—they are beautiful!  i especially love the close up of the fence top—-

The first snow of the season is always so exciting.
We had snow about two weeks ago, Robin’s first. She had a ball playing in the snow. Began snowing around supper time however it was too dark to take photos and by morning we were left with great lumps of soggy half frozen ice chunks.

So pretty when it is light and fluffy looking.

Ooooo pretty!

Now THIS is the way I like to experience the snow…from a safe distance!

My first comment hear, although I have been reading for a while.

I am so jealous!  Not a single flake of snow here in South Jersey. I’d love some smile

OH YAY!!!! They have predicted that areas North and West of us will get the same fat, wet, lazy snow tonight, but it feels like snow both here in the city and at home too (south of the city). I am so excited!!!

Yeah, this VA girl loves snow too!

PS Love your backyard…so pretty and comfy looking.

Elizabeth: thank you!

Paula: I know what you mean about the icy stuff. Seems that’s all we got last year. It was nice to have “fluffy” for a change.

Susan: you wimp! wink

Jennifer: welcome and thanks for commenting!

Krista: I hope you get your snow!
