I don't know what this is. It is probably from the cortinaria genus. There are thousands of cortinaria mushrooms, so I'll probably never be able to know exactly what it is. The photo does not do justice to this mushrooms blue-ish coloring. They grew prolifically in one very small area near the creek -- nowhere else. Photo by Rick in late July, 2004.
