Blue Tuesday

Oh, woe is me! I am sitting here in my wonderful new house on this gorgeous-blue sky-breezy-chilly May morning feeling very blue and sorry for myself. Sigh. Tuesdays are sure not what they used to be. You see, Tuesday was Knitting Day for me. A whole morning of guilty pleasure, just for ME! Every Tuesday I would eagerly get out of bed, feed dogs, scoop cat litter, scoop the yard, shower, get dressed (pretty much in that order!) and head off to Starbucks where I would meet Tammy and Kathy, my knitting buddies, at 9 o’clock. We’d bring our latest projects to show each other and catch up on what had happened in our lives over the past week over a good cup of coffee. At 10 o’clock we’d gather ourselves up and head on over to Julie’s place; better known as My Sister Knits. Somehow to me, it’s just Julie’s.

Julie’s was a great place to go and just hang out. Tuesdays were great because my favorite people were working there on Tuesdays (Julie, Julie & Kathy), and since it was the first day of the week that they were open, it was always busy. If a class wasn’t in session, Tammy, Kathy and myself would just sit down at the table with whatever we happened to be working on and just sit, knit, and chat. Or, it seemed like every week Julie had ordered in some new, yummy yarn with which to tempt us into starting something new. Hmm…wouldn’t this be great for a scarf? Or what about this, wouldn’t it be great felted? Clients were always dropping by to show off their finished projects and to share stories. I miss them all!! I miss the comraderie, the sharing, the learning, the rainbow-hued yarns spilling out of their orderly bins calling me to touch them. HELP! I need a knitting fix! STOP! I’m making myself depressed here. The closest knitting shop is about 1/2 hour away and it doesn’t look very interesting. Granted, I have not been inside, just peeked through the window. But it’s not Julie’s. Tammy and Kathy won’t be there either. Eventually I’ll probably find my own knitting niche here. Until then, Tuesdays are just Tuesdays. Here is part of my stash:

Welcome, I'm Lynne. You know me better as a 'new' Jersey Girl. But now I've moved once again, this time to North Carolina. Here I write about my thoughts, good food, and of course, dogs.
