Blue Flax

This may not be indigenous to the cabin area. The Fall we were building the cabin, Rick seeded the “torn up” ground around the building site with wild grasses and some wildflowers. We think this may have come from that. Photo by Lynne on 6/22/2004.

Clasping-leaf Twisted Stalk

Yes, that really is the common name for this flower. It grows on a bush near water. The flowers turn into bright red berries in the fall. The flowers hang from the stalk of the bush.

Another Clasping-leaf Twisted Stalk

Photo by Rick on 6/23/2004. They grow with many flowers evenly spaced along the stalk. These are pretty hard to get photos of.
