Fall around my house

Lynne Robinson, Hewitt, New Jersey
Out my front door.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love Fall. It’s the time of year when you can throw the curtains open wide and let the soft sunlight shine in. Unlike summer when I run around the house closing all the curtains to keep the sun out and keep the house cool. The view out every window is breathtaking right now—filled with color.

It’s so dark in the mornings that it’s hard to rouse yourself up and out of bed. Just a few minutes more I tell the dogs ...

What follows are views around my yard right now.

Leaves (what kind?) the size of dinner plates.

It’s so hard to capture the colors. They glow with a warmth that just doesn’t come through in the photos. It warms my soul from within.

Did I already tell you that I love Fall?

Comments:

I enjoy fall as well…the colors and crispness of the air…gotta love it.  I think you captured the beauty in your photos.  I have never seen a leaf that big…wow.  We are having a cool rainy week-end down here.  Snow in the mtns with parts of I-70 closed because of snow and accidents…it has begun.

Debra, winter comes so early in Colorado! You need the snow though!

Looks like a tulip tree leaf… nice mitts!  smile

I just love it too.  I was writing on my laptop in the backyard yesterday and every time the wind would blow it would “rain” gold leaves.  Makes me feel SO lucky to live where I do. grin

Maggie, tulip tree? Yeah, it takes a knitter to notice the mitts! wink

SaucyB, you’ve hit the nail right on the head. And it’s actually the subject of my next blog post that’s been forming in my head over the past few days. We ARE lucky!
