I’ve discovered a great cheese trier.  It’s a key used by hair dressers to squeeze color from the tube.  My hair dresser gave me one, but I understand they are only a couple of dollars at a beauty supply house.  I tried it today and it works great.

I tried to attach a photo.  It’s kind of hard to make out from the photo, but it has a slit in it like the traditional cheese trier.

Hmm, how are u going to extract the core if their is not a large slit to slide out the cheese core? Unless u spread the slit open.

There is a large slit.  Used a butter knife to push it out the end.  It worked great.

That’s great! I never could figure out why those triers were so darn expensive.

How about this?

http://www.mcmaster.com/

search on cork & rubber punch, or the number 6122A23 which is the product number.

Just a thought.

Looks like it would work, but may be harder to get the sample out of the tube.  The hair color key has a slit in it, allowing the sample to be pushed out.
