i’ve been naughty

Lynne Robinson, Hewitt, New Jersey

by looking at my angelic face you would think i don’t get into much trouble. mom says trouble is now my middle name. bella trouble robinson. has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

last night i chewed up one of mommy’s socks. she caught me in the act and tooked it away from me. i tried to get it back.

she yelled at me and told me NO!

i didn’t learn much of a lesson cuz this morning i did something even worse. i was only out of sight for a few minutes, but somehow i got dad’s almost-finished-except-for-the-thumb mitten off the stand. look what i did.

mommy was REALLLLLLLLLY mad. i didn’t get spanked or anything, but boy did she yell BAD GIRL BELLA. her face was all red and funny. i knew i had done something wrong but i didn’t know what.

oh dear.

Postscript from Bella’s Mom: Seriously, does anybody have any suggestion on how to fix this mitten? My rescue skills are not the best!

Comments:

LOL…sorry she is too cute!
Mitten rescue, three options:
1) Unravel the mitt and begin again.
2) Try darning the hole - like you would for a sock.
3) Carefully snip off the damaged section, put the live stitches on needles and knit a new wrist section. Do to the nature of the yarn colour your newly knit section may or may not be noticeable… try matching the yarn as closely as you can before you begin knitting. If you use this fix Your stitches will be going in a different direction than the hand part.
I did this when I re-knit the celtic hat into a sweater for Robin. You can see the backward stiches on the ribbing in the 3rd photo here. Ravelry link http://www.ravelry.com/projects/MinglingThreads/celtic-robin

It’s hard to believe that innocent looking angel-face is such a devil! (And she’s still a cutie!)

Oh my.  Just oh my….

Paula, it’s hard to get really cross with her and stay that way. She IS too darned cute. Thanks for all the rescue tips. I may try to darn it and see how bad it looks.

Mary, I know, I know!

Becky is that all you have to say???

Um…duct tape? It fixes everything.

Bella just wanted the sock to go with her shoe.  And the mitten is almost like a sock so you can understand why she got confused.

It’s not her fault! LOL

Did I ever tell you how our little dog ate a couch?

ohh dear - and that last picture is sooo sweet

i’d have thought a darn would look fine if the colour is the same.
if not, i’d go for paula’s 3rd suggestion.

i’ve been wanting to knit some fingerless gloves - this one looks great, lovely colours
